About this Talk
Refining 1950s work in Canada, I was on a team at the International Foundation for Advanced Study in Menlo Park in the1960s. We developed and demonstrated the effectiveness of the then novel protocol, now considered standard: comfortable set and setting, male and female staff, encouraging transcendent experience and integrating and supporting post-session personality changes. Even before all psychedelic research was cancelled, clinical researchers of the day questioned results that could not be squeezed into their mechanistic paradigm. Similar resistance continues even within current psychedelic clinical research and government oversight today.
